Curriculum planning
Our school designs courses in a thematic format, where each learning theme is presented through stories or picture books to enhance students' enjoyment of learning. We value exploration and experiential learning to foster students' curiosity and concentration. Additionally, we teach students self-reliance and cultivate positive attitudes towards others. Through theme-based integrated learning activities and dedicated religious and moral education lessons, we enable our students to experience the spirit of Christ's love, understand truth, and develop good character.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Our school places a strong emphasis on language learning and is committed to nurturing students who are proficient in both Chinese and English. Each class is led by both a foreign teacher and a Cantonese-speaking teacher. Additionally, we have native Putonghua teacher to teach the language. We utilize school-designed materials for the curriculum, teaching English phonics and Chinese character recognition through interactive activities and games.
Moreover, we implement weekly reading and read-aloud programs in both Chinese and English. During these sessions, teachers engage students in one-on-one reading of books to enhance their language struture. We offer music and fine arts lessons that embrace both Chinese and Western cultures, aiming to broaden students' perspectives and encourage creativity.
Furthermore, we implement a whole-school approac to foster wellbeing through Positive Education.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
Teachers conduct ongoing observations throughout the year and regularly record and analyze children's learning performances. At the end of each semester, our school distributes "Student's Learning Portfolio" to parents. These portfolios include thematic assessment forms and observation reports, providing parents with insights into their children's learning progress, abilities, and areas of improvement.
