Curriculum planning
We incorporate thematic learning , project-basic learning . JELIC (Multiple Intelligence Box) and Genius Brain Approach for child learn in an integrated way to cultivate children attention, logical thinking and problem-solving skill. We also devote to develop student’s positive moral characters in a Christian foundation. We are also using Learning by doing, first-hand experience, and learning through play as our teaching strategies. Full time English and Putonghua teachers are available to provide a bilingual environment for students so as to strengthen children cognitive abilities. Our curriculum aims to attain all-round development in the domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
The "child-centered approach" is adopted. Children learn from their daily life-based experience which allows the child to make their own decision and establish their own ideas towards promoting competent communication and learning. The approach focuses on the concept of allowing freedom to the child, giving them the ability to use their own individual approach.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
Through progressive and conclusive assessments children's performance and abilities are observed, recorded and analyzed objectively in actual learning environment. A student portfolio of learning is to be kept of student work samples, teacher's notes parent’s assessments and formal assessments.
