Curriculum planning
Our Kindergarten offers a comprehensive and child-centred curriculum in alignment with the Education Bureau’s “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide (2017). A thematic and play based approach ensures our curriculum fosters the holistic development of young children. Curriculum content is designed to match developmental needs, individual needs, and general abilities of young children. Teachers encourage students to participate in various learning activities and experience the joy of "learning by doing." Through interactive engagement with their own environment and the use of diverse learning materials, children can construct their own learning journey.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Using a teaching framework of themes, stories and projects, students and teachers can cooperate to build play based learning areas where they can explore, play and engage in Constructive STEAM activities. This can enshrine positive values and good character in children from an early age. The implementation of our ‘listen to me read scheme’ further strengthens children’s language abilities.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
By utilising a continuous observation and assessment method, we are able to record the progressive growth of young children. We also regularly distribute "children's learning progress records" to parents, which allows them to understand their children's learning progress in various areas and make timely follow-ups for their children.
